Banana Oatmeal

 

This is a recipe for those who love oatmeal, but are looking for a way to make it more fun and enjoyable.
I like trying out new things using recipes I already know… And this is an example!

For this spicy banana oatmeal you’ll need:

– 200 gr of oats
– 3 bananas
– Cinnamon (1tsp)
– 250 ml of Almond milk (I used Alond-Chocolate milk because I like it better!)
– Some honey or maple syrup to sweeten things up
– Water

The how-to:

Start by pouring 700 ml of water and the almond milk in a sauce pan and bring to a boil on medium heat.
Add the oats and when the mixture starts boiling again, quickly lower the heat and leave to simmer for 15-20 minutes (if you’re using “quick” oats that cook faster, just go for 5 minutes). Stir occasionally.

Mash up 2 bananas and add them to the oatmeal, along with a teaspoon of cinnamon (yum!).

Pour the mixture into bowls and loosely poor some honey over it. Serve with a couple of banana slices (that’s what the 3d one is for) and sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top.

I found this recipe delicious. I hope the measurements are right, I used a bit too much water (but managed to pour some of it away) so I altered the recipe a bit.
