Mug Cakes

I absolutely love mug cakes. They’re easy to make and don’t take up too much of your time, so they’re perfect for later on in the evening as a dessert. I made 2 different mug cakes but went a little bit berserk with the decorating so they may not look as yummy as they are. But they really taste marvellous.

Vanilla Mug Cake

You’ll need a regular sized mug and:

– 1 egg
– 2 tbsp of brown sugar
– 1 tsp of vanilla essence
– 1 tbsp of whipped cream
– 5 tbsp of flower
– 1/2 tsp of baking powder
– 30 gr of butter

Lemon Mug Cake

You’ll need a regular sized mug and:

– 4 tbsp of sugar
– 2 tsp of lemon zest
– 1 egg
– 1/2 tsp of vanilla sugar
– 4 tsp of whipped cream
– 6 tbsp of flower
– 1/2 tsp of baking powder

First off you’ll need to melt the butter in a bowl in the microwave for 20 seconds.

Then you mix the ingredients in the mug in the exact order they’re mentioned above. Add the butter last. Make sure you keep beating the batter well for a perfect result.
After that put the mug cake in the microwave and bake them for 1 minute and 40 seconds (800 Watt).

You can decorate the mug cakes with some icing.

I made mine with 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar and a bit of water (I kept adding drops until the icing was sufficiently fluid). I also added a drop of yellow and a drop of blue colouring agent, just to make it more fun.
Some sprinkles on top of it and tadaaa! Ready!

Now I guess I’ll need to go to the gym again…
