2017 has been a year full of changes for us.
My lifestyle has always needed an upgrade and with an extra family member in the house, I think it’s safe to say that our life has been one big chaos so far. I have been focusing on feeling better about my new body and my new role as a mother, and had some trouble getting back to my full time job.
I’m on a better road now though, I’m currently home on Wednesdays for Jamie and it has truly been a blessing. I’m also trying to incorporate new habits into my life, to increase my efficiency and productivity. And of course: I still try to read as often as I can.
So how have the first two months of 2018 been for me?
Well, first of all I continued my streak of reading from the last half of 2017.
Reading is my me-time. I sometimes read while taking a relaxing bath, but most days I just read in bed for half an hour or more before going to sleep. I also started a bookstagram account, which you can check out if you want.
We also went on an asian food inspired day-trip to Rotterdam with friends and a 2-day shopping trip to Eindhoven (just the two of us).
I’ve started to feel better at work, though there’s still some days I’m having a hard time getting up and feeling motivated about it.
And lastly I’m on a mission to improve my lifestyle. I’ve started purging my closet of everything that’s old, worn or doesn’t fit anymore. And I must say, it feels refreshing! I think I just want a new start at this whole adult life thingy. It’ll be a long road, but I’m trying to enjoy every step of the way!
Next step is finally making all my medical appointments… Am I the only one who keeps putting off going to the dentist? Ugh… Still, I think it’s really important and I want to be the best version of myself. As a mom, I am suddenly very conscious about the example I’m setting…
And last but not least, I’m planning on continuing my sushi dates with my best friend and to discover some new places, or rediscover old ones, so more on that shortly.
